The Gibbs Family. Devon. Easter Holidays 2015

Fabulous holiday. Lovely chance to get the whole family together - our children, grand children had a superb time. An ideal house for all 10 of us, the first time we’ve all been together for more than a day!

Thank you Mick & Jan, for your hospitality and your liqueurs were delicious.

La Famille Cesarine. Thiais, France. April 2015.

Nous avons passé de merveilleuses vacances. Mick et Jan sont très accueillants. La maison est très confortable et spacieuse. Le jardin est magnifique. Les enfants ont bien aimé donner à manger aux poules.

Merci pour votre hospitalitée.
The Toms Family. Dorset. May 2015
Back again, this time with sister-in-law and family. The weather was kind and all four children roamed, played and swam to their hearts content. The four adults enjoyed some much needed down time after a challenging few months and the sad loss of Carole, who was due to join us, but sadly passed away in April. We know she would have loved the tranquility of La Maison en Pierre and the amazing hospitality of Jan & Mick (Jam & Nick, as Moll called them!)
Till next time.....

We had a lovely time and really enjoyed going swimming and getting the eggs from the chickens.

Thank you Jan & Mick for your kind and generous hospitality. La Vielle Maison was like home from home and we really enjoyed our holiday with you. Will miss the eggs & veg. Had a lovely dinner last night in the village restaurant.

Thank you for making us feel so welcome to your very beautiful corner of France. The villa is fantastic, well appointed, well looked after and spacious. We were all very comfortable here and felt we had everything we needed to keep 6 adults and 4 children amused. The layout of the environment is great, the gardens, the pool, the courtyard and the playroom all really well thought out – thorough & convenient. We had a fabulous 2 weeks here, helped along by the hot and sunny weather nearly every day. A holiday to remember - we’ll be back! Keep doing what you’re doing!!!

There just aren’t enough thank you’s to express our gratitude for the warmth of your welcome and your help before and during our holiday. Despite the problems with our car and Alan’s illness, we had a wonderful holiday. You have thought of everything a holiday-maker could need and we have loved staying in La Maison en Pierre. Thank you also for sharing your delicious garden produce and for the fresh eggs and especially for the very enjoyable evening tasting your amazing home-made liqueurs. I’d say that was the best Bastille day we’ve ever had in France!! Wishing you continued success in all that you do and lots of fun travels in your motorhome.

Another fabulous year sitting by the pool, enjoying the food and going for fabulous bike rides. I would love to come again next year with my family. My sister unfortunately got ill on the last day, but I was still proud of this big house. All my love.

This year has been amazing! We collected all the chicken eggs and had them for breakfast. Last year was so fun and this year my memories came back to me again. Hopefully, we will come back again. Thanks from all the family.

What an absolutely fantastic place! You’ve made us quite envious that you get to live here all the time. We had a lovely time and you cater for everything, not just with the facilities on site, but the eggs, fruit, vegetables….the list goes on. A wonderful way to start our holiday, incredibly relaxing and such generous hosts. I hope we’ll be back soon.

Thank you for letting us stay in your house. I have had a very nice time. (Thank you). You have been very kind to let us pick your vegetables, they are very nice. Your chickens are very nice and I bet the others liked them as well. It is a wonderful place for a holiday.
I have seen lots of lizards, they are very quick, so I could not catch one. The pool is very fun and we have had a very nice time. Lots of love, Nathan (7) & Joshiah (12). P.S And the others.

We have had the most wonderful holiday. Thanks to you both, Mick & Jan, for having such a lovely holiday home and being such wonderful hosts. We couldn't have asked for anything more and hope to re-visit. We'll tell all our friends & family. Goodluck for the future.

We have had a lovely two weeks here with our two daughters. La Vielle Maison is a beautiful gite and so well equipped and comfortable. We have loved the pool and the chickens. Our children have turned into water babies!
We have enjoyed trips to La Rochelle, Puy du Fou, Parc Pierre Brun, Fontenay le Comte and just relaxing. We will be back soon and will definitely recommend you to our friends & family. Thank you for being so generous and friendly.

Amazing pool, great swings and games room that entertained us for the whole two weeks! Annabel (11)
My favourite things were the pool, collecting eggs and Jan's chocolate cake! Love from Philippa (8)

We had booked La Maison well in advance for a special birthday celebration and having read previous comments were looking forward to our holiday. We were not to be disappointed. We were greeted by Jan who gave us the full tour including the kitchen garden and the various fruit trees to which we could help ourselves. The nectarines and the mirabelles were particularly tasty!
After the long drive we all retired relatively early, sustained by the wine and provisions that had been arranged with Jan. Sunday morning all up enjoying the sunshine and the pool and looking forward to lunch in the local restaurant, again kindly arranged in advance by Jan.
Monday was the birthday and our hosts conjured up balloons and a banner along with a cake which made the day.
During the whole of our stay we wanted for nothing. Did I mention fresh eggs from the hens? Everything you need is in the house and if you have young children there is a separate play room with a whole host of games, dressing up clothes, videos and books. If you want peace and quiet you can laze around the pool which has plenty of loungers and chairs, or in the garden. If you feel more energetic there are bikes, and my wife and I went cycling for the first time in about forty years. An hours drive will find you in La Rochelle and the beach areas. A small local supermarket 5 minutes drive away has most of what you are likely to need but if not 15 minutes away in Chantonnay there is a much larger supermarket with endless selection.
During our second week Mick and Jan organised a get together with the guests in the smaller property and we were all treated to Mick’s home made wine selection. I particularly enjoyed the walnut. An excellent night.
We all felt the photos on the web did not really do justice to the place and we hope that we can return sometime in the future. Many thanks to Mick and Jan for making a memorable holiday.

Thank you for your friendly and generous hospitality. Everything we could need for a holiday and much much more. Would be great if you were also in charge of the weather, but lots to see and do (even in thunderstorms!) Would recommend the local zoo at Mervent and Futuroscope for bad weather days. Coulon and it's waterways are charming and taking a boat out is great if children aren't too young. Lovely meal at La Minage in Ste. Hermine. Thank you again for a wonderful stay. Aru, Keith, Adella & Torrin. Leeds.

It was amazing! The pool was wonderful and the swings are great. The fruit was delicious. I liked playing in the games room and my bed was very comfy. Jan & Mick were incredibly friendly and positive. From Adella (11)

An amazing amount of space. From Torrin (10)

Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. We really enjoyed our stay and felt so relaxed. Our 3 babies loved it too.... especially eating their first fruit straight from the tree and learning that eggs come from chickens. Your generous allotment made our mealtimes. All 6 of us enjoyed our Shiatsu massages with Marie-Pierre. She found every knot and just melted them away!
