Les Orgues du Feu at the Puy du Fou Theme Park
Paul, Heather & family, Galway, Ireland. May 2016
We had a brilliant holiday and the accommodation ticked all the boxes.
The place catered for everything and Jan & Mick were most helpful in making our stay as pleasant and relaxing as possible. Highly recommended.

A 9 strong family from Bristol. June 2016

Wow! This should say it all. Your holiday home caters for everyone in
A* form. Our week has been wonderful here, the house and gardens exceeded our expectations. Gwyneth says she was warm & comfortable here. Auntie Mar says 'If it's not here, we don't need it'. Little Alice & Victoria - well, the toy room, pool & bikes and the fact that they could pick strawberries and collect eggs for breakfast added to their adventures. The best holiday home visited - anywhere - by us - by far. 'Thank you so much'. from Gwyneth.

Lovely restoration, very well equipped property. We all enjoyed our weeks holiday here. Shame about the rain, but it did not spoil our trips to Puy de Fou which was well worth coming for. Lovely gardens and pool area. We did not use them, due to the weather, but they look wonderful. Will certainly recommend to friends. Mick & Jan were good, and helpful with everything. Many thanks for everything.

We had a wonderful week, staying at La Vielle Maison. Mick & Jan are excellent hosts and have got such a well thought out holiday experience that caters for everything, from the swimming pool to the kids playroom, the fresh eggs from the chickens to the fresh produce in their garden.
It truly is amazing. Massively recommend visiting Vouvant, a lovely little village with great photo opportunities. Think we may well be coming back here as it's such a wonderful place to stay and thanks to Mick & Jan for making us feel so welcome.

We have really enjoyed the fortnight that we've spent at La Vieille Maison. The weather has been very good and so we've enjoyed the pool and all the outside space. Jan & Mick's hospitality has been terrific and we've really appreciated the many ways in which they have done so much more than necessary to make the house, and our holiday, so special. In particular, Ted could not have been more excited by the playroom! It has been so thoughtfully prepared and made us feel so welcome and at home from the very start. We've had lovely days out in La Rochelle, Les Sables d'Olonne, La Tranche sur mer and Vouvant. For future visitors with small children, we recommend the zoo at Les Sables and the beautiful sandy beaches nearby. We are sad to leave and Ted will miss the chickens.

We have had a fabulous week at La Vieille Maison and really enjoyed our stay ici!. Thanks to Jan & Mick for providing all those extras which made it a great holiday. We especially love the pool, playroom, and bicycles, but fresh eggs for breakfast were the best. Fabulous stay - thank you Jan & Mick. We'll be back!!. P.S. Thank you for teaching me to swim - love Caitlin.xx

The Howlett Family, Eastbourne July/August 2016
As a family, we had an amazing time staying at La Maison en Pierre. We could not have asked for better weather, although we were relieved that it did cool down slightly through our second week here. The pool was definitely a highlight of the holiday, as it was our first pool holiday. It helped to provide comfort in the 34degree heat and provided much family entertainment through the majority of the 2 weeks that we stayed here. The area was beautifully scenic and the gardens were stunning. The young children enjoyed collecting the chicken eggs for breakfast. An amazing and comfortable house, which is beautifully restored. Thank you for helping us when we needed it, as we're not familiar with the area, and offering us your great hospitality. Thanks for everything and good luck for the future.

Jonathon, Tanya, Matthew & Ewan Harper, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. August 2016
The end of 2 weeks stay at La Vieille Maison and we all agree it's been absolutely perfect! From the moment we arrived, we were absolutely bowled over by the gite, the grounds, the pool and the lovely village of St. Juire! Our 2 boys loved the pool and feeding the hens and collecting eggs.
Further afield, we loved La Rochelle and the beaches at La Tranche sur Mer & Les Conches. Plus the food is great at the Phare Ouest.
The gite is very well equipped indeed, we wanted for nothing. Ewan, especially will miss the cats too!
But, far & away the very best thing about our stay was the wonderful hospitality of Jan & Mick. They were so welcoming and always on hand when needed - nothing was too much trouble! The 'welcome' evening for the new family in La Maison en Pierre, halfway through our stay, was especially good fun. So, thanks for everything, Jan & Mick, we'll be back!!

Thank you so much for an amazing holiday. The villa is fantastic and we have all loved every minute. You really have thought of everything and we have been so well cared for. You are lovely people who have welcomed us to your home and provided advice and assistance we needed. The veg patch, chickens and cats are also a wonderful addition. We can’t believe how lucky we are, being able to stay here. See you again soon.
P.S. this was Austin’s first abroad trip and all 3 children say how much they would like to move here as it’s been the best holiday ever!

The Crossley & Walker Families Bishops Stortford. September 2016
The Crossley/Walker families have enjoyed their stay at your lovely gite and because of the excellent weather, we have made full use of the pool. The local off-road tracks are ideal for cycling, which many of the family have done. Most of the meals together have been eaten outside in the lovely walled courtyard. You have made us most welcome. Thank you.

The Wolff Family, Kent. September 2016
Thank you for a wonderful stay at this beautiful gite. We’ve all enjoyed the house, garden, pool, chickens and cats! Your hospitality has been first class and you’re by far the friendliest holiday cottage owners we’ve ever met! We had some great trips out and especially enjoyed the Iles des Machines at Nantes and the Grand Espace at La Rochelle. There’s so much that we didn’t have time to visit, so we’re already looking forward to returning. Bertie has drawn some pictures for you. The first is a saw-nosed fish and the bottom two are from the Carousel in Nantes. A nautilus and the mechanical spider. Best wishes always.

Words cannot adequately express my thanks to you both for your hospitality and friendship in celebrating my 70th birthday. However impressed after our previous visit 2 years ago, our expectations were surpassed even more. The ‘gang’ also wish to give their thanks for your splendid hospitality.
Diolch yn fawr iawn (Thank you very much)

The Langleys, Watts & Parker Families. Derbyshire. October 2016
Thank you Jan & Mick for a wonderfully restful holiday in your comfortable Maison en Pierre. We have already started to think about dates when we can return! Neva enjoyed watching the chickens and the eggs were delicious. Thanks for all the helpful tips & information about the local area, which we have all fallen in love with. We went across to Les Sables d’Olonne and saw the exhibition and boats about to set off on the Vendée Globe race. We’ll follow it with interest on the internet/skype. The ‘youngsters’ thought Le Grand Defi was the most challenging parcours they’ve done! Loads more to see & do la prochaine fois!!

A thousand thanks for having us at La Maison en Pierre. We had a very special time here, as it was our daughter, Neva’s first holiday abroad and we’ll take with us cherished memories. Morning strolls with Neva in the pram, taking lunch in the garden, relaxing in front of the shore; all an absolute pleasure. Our only regret was we weren’t quite brave enough to dive in the pool, given the October breeze – that means, we’ll all have to return in the summer months!!
